First Edition. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Bound in publisher's red cloth with gilt lettering on front, as well as inset photograph. Floral endpapers with toning around the edges. Some wear and discoloration along spine with minor fraying of the binding cloth around the edges and corners. Minor water damage along the bottom left of the cover and spine. Small bump in bottom right corner of the pages from the free endpaper to page 12. One loose plate: plate VI. No Jacket. Ten plates and twenty-five illustrations, including frontispiece—picturing Navajo culture before displacement in the Twentieth Century. Stamping on free endpaper indicates that the book was processed through the American Library Association's WWII book drive "Victory Book Campaign Washington D.C.".
