Fitz-Greene Halleck

D. Appleton, 1847

Hardcover: Very Good. No dustjacket.  First Edition, with seven engravings including frontis and title page. A lovely example of leather and gilt Victorian binding. End papers (apparently replaced) are clean with prior owner signature in front. Interior lightly toned with scattered foxing at times. Light offsetting from plates, all tissue guards intact. Free of known markings. Binding tight and intact. A sound copy. The book is accompanied by a letter, dated 1832. from Henry B. Halleck is the only American poet in the "Literary Walk" in Central Park, New York City.
