Cloth Bound. Condition: Very Good,  Gilt is bright.  No Jacket. 1st Edition. Very attractive first edition about the ancient Iberian Roman province including all of modern Portugal south of the Douro and part of modern Spain (Extremadura and part of Salamanca). The original pictorial gilt cloth binding, with beveled boards, is in very good condition, with slight wear to the top and bottom of the spine and points. Front hinge a bit loose. Pasted endpapers are dark blue. The 406-page text is in very good, tight, clean condition. Negligible age-browning. Bookplate on front end paper. 20 illustrations from photographs.
