First Edition. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good +. Luminous green cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine and author's initials "I.B.S" stamped onto front cover. Signed by author on the free endpaper. The cloth is unmarked and perfectly intact. The only exterior flaw is some minor bumping and extremely light fading at the top edge of the book, on the outer top corners of the boards and the very top of the spine. The interior is in pristine condition with no visible marks or wear. Jacket Condition: Very Good. Jacket has some minor shelfwear and a couple of creases near the spine. A WWII-era  tragicomedy about love in a time of massive cruelty and bitter realities, Enemies, A Love Story is a widely-praised addition to Singer's Nobel-winning oeuvre.
