Original gilt brown embossed pictorial boards. slight wear but very good First Edition. Rebacked with new endpapers. Text block is bright and tight. Faint pencil marks on fep, that are reference notes.  Very light foxing.  All steel engravings by the famed artist Seth Eastman. History of various Native Americans in both Canada and America who encountered early explorers Captain and Mrs. Eastman were stationed by Fort Snelling Minnesota from 1841 to 1848. Very satisfying copy and scarce.
